• Box lunches will be provided to all of the participants. A box lunch will be guaranteed to those
who preregister; and for those who do not preregister a box lunch will be provided as long as the
extras are available.
• We will not know until mid-July if the Governor will be the keynote speaker. Once we have that
information we will begin planning and scheduling the marketing of this very important event for
Hot Springs Village.
• We will be sending out a “Save the Date’ notice to Villagers through the E-Blast, press releases to the
Voice and Sentinel Record, and flyers for bulletin boards, etc. throughout the Village.

- The committee has identified two distinct areas for the Publicity and Advertising campaign:
- Public Awareness to the entire Village
- Reaching the target market of those who may need these services the most
- Committee member, Missy Masterson, has developed a logo for our Senior Services Expo that will be used on all printed materials.
- The committee is in the process of recruiting a Publicity Awareness campaign coordinator for the committee to develop the overall PR plan, materials and timeline for PR and advertising Campaign for the Expo.

- 19 organizations offering key services for seniors have been identified and are being contacted to participate in the expo with a vendor booth. 9 have agreed to date.
- There are two keynote speakers identified: Gov. Hutchinson (in the process of being contacted); Craig Cloud, the Dir. of AR Division of Aging and Adult Services (has agreed). Plus there will be additional speakers and breakout sessions in the afternoon on important topics that seniors need to know.
- The planning team will be meeting next week at the Coronado Center to plan the layout of the expo and continue to plan more details of the event:
- Follow-up on the recruitment of the key senior services booth participants, speakers, etc.
- Transportation for Villagers to and from the event
- Volunteer assistance for the seniors at the event
- Marketing/publicity/flyers, etc.
- Preregistration

SENIOR SERVICES SYMPOSIUM COMMITTEE—Cindy Calhoun
- The goals of the committee are to inform the Village of the services for seniors that are available to them and to also inform them of how they can get involved.
- The first meeting for the planning team has been scheduled for March 7. I will chair the committee and the team members to date are Leslie Nally, Educational Committee Chair on the Governor’s Advisory Council on Aging; Missy Masterson, Director of Health Services at the Area Agency on Aging of West Central Arkansas; Nancy Otto; John Weidert, Director of POA Board; and Peggy Yeric.
